OTD , 19 August 1811, born in Cuttack Samuel Richard Tickell. In 1840, he published extensive articles on the HO tribe of Jharkhand, a.o. the 1st grammar of an Indian tribal language. Later, he wrote and illustrated the 14 volumes of his Zoological Works, now in the ZSL Library.
