I wanted to take the time to celebrate one of my favorite presses, Archipelago! Archipelago Books is at the forefront of world lit today, because they support incredible translators. To discover the avant garde in languages like Spanish, Italian, or Turkish, try their books!
Okay! Just one final batch of books for the library before the semester begins. A mix of contemporary literature and some classics I simply needed to own, like László's best, Seiobo (tr. ottilie mulzet @ottiliemulzet.bsky.social). I'm alsp excited to try Verdigris, courtesy of translator Brian Robert Moore.
Herscht 07769 is one of my favorite books published this year! It's also tied for my favorite Krasznahorkai alongside Seiobo, thanks again to ottilie mulzet @ottiliemulzet.bsky.social's indefatigable work. I wrote a ecstaticly about the new tome over at The Millions this summer: themillions.com/2024/07/most-a…
¡Muchas gracias por incluirme! Revista Santiago has published my The Millions essay on José Donoso for his centennial, translated by the delightful Sebastián Duarte Rojas. I'm so humbled that my joyous call for a sea change was met with support. May literary style ever evolve.
