I am so proud of my students. Even although I was not in my office during the summer, they still self-motivated to work on their research projects and presented an excellent poster. I may make them fall in love with research. Well done, Aaron, Jackson Lancaster and Samantha!
The #Mach5 2024 conference hosted by Università di Bologna is kicking off by co-chairs Alberto Credi and Rainer Herges at La Rocca Vescovile di Bertinoro inEmiliaRomagna. Wonderful view from the castle and nice to see many friends and researchers in the field gathering together.
The #Mach5 2024 opening talk by 1987 The Nobel Prize Laureate in Chemistry, Professor Jean-Marie Lehn (University of Strasbourg).
Day 1 at the #Mach5 2024: The Nobel Prize Winner Jean-Pierre Sauvage received a gift from the host after his wonderful talk and a fruitful round table discussion with Rainer Herges (L) and Alberto Credi (R). I enjoyed the brain storming and experience sharing with other colleagues.
Seeing my friend & former colleague with many co-author papers, Jim Seale, at the #Mach5 in Italy. I’m happy to witness his grow over the past 5 years. He has also just got his PhD Degree from Northwestern University Northwestern Chemistry so good luck with your future career as a Doctor!
A reunion photo with the artificial molecular pump team of the Fraser Stoddart group. We are now in six different countries (L to R): Yunyan Qiu 🇸🇬, Marco Ovalle 🇳🇱, me 🇺🇸, Jim 🏴, Chris 🇦🇺 and Cristian Pezzato 🇮🇹 . Thanks for the organizer of #Mach5 2024 in Italy.
Congratulations to Nathalie Katsonis who has received the Sauvage-Stoddart-Feringa Senior Award. She shared many unpublished results in her talk entitled Mechanochemistry of Artificial Molecular Machines.
This photograph leaves me all pumped up. So much talent spread across the globe (Australia / Italy / Singapore /The Netherlands / United States) originally from China (Yunyan & Yuanning), Italy (Cristian), Mexico (Marco), Australia (Chris) and Scotland (Jim). Northwestern Chemistry
My former colleague in the Fraser Stoddart group, Yunyan Qiu, have just got the Sauvage-Stoddart-Feringa Junior Award. Well done! He shared his research on molecular machines in the Stoddart Group Northwestern Chemistry and introduced his independent work NUS Chemistry.
Day 2 at the #Mach5 2024, four grid snapshots of #WomeninScience featuring outstanding researchers: Erica Del Grosso (Francesco Ricci Lab Università di Roma Tor Vergata in 🇮🇹 ), Dr. Daisy Pooler (Fredrik Schaufelberger group KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 🇸🇪 ) Larissa von Krbek (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 🇩🇪 ) and Nathalie Katsonis (University of Groningen in 🇳🇱).
Some snapshots at the #Mach5 of the Fraser Stoddart group members including two current postdocs GC Wu & Enxu LIU at HKU Chemistry plus two former postgraduate visiting students Chris (DJ Kim at UNSW Science) & Marco Ovalle (Feringa Lab at University of Groningen).
A causal and typical Italian local dinner at the #Mach5. Thanks for the host Alberto Credi and Rainer Herges. I am glad to meet so many people in the field of molecular machines.
And now it was the turn of none other than Yuanning Feng from Yuanning Feng Research Group to deliver a wonderful talk at Mach-5, with a very special guest joining the conference: Fraser Stoddart. 👏👏
So excited to meet with the Fraser Stoddart pumping group at #mach5 from left to right me, GC Wu Marco Ovalle Yunyan Qiu Dr. Jim Seale Chris Yuanning Feng Cristian Pezzato.
