Dancing is healing. Dancing for your relatives, ancestors, and those who been joined the spirit world continues to heal communities as we honor them. One of our youth had the idea to dance while we were at the 9/11 memorial on Memorial Day.

I can't believe I got to design a city bus honoring Dakota land! You'll see it around town, going to the mall of America etc. The driver was randomly assigned the bus and he was amazed -- he's Ojibwe and Lakota and it was just a coincidence he gets this rad ride as his! ♥️

We lift up and remember the incredible life and legacy of Chief Standing Bear / Maⁿchú-Naⁿzhíⁿ (Ponca), and we honor his inclusion on the new U.S. Postal Service Forever stamp. Without his important policy work, we wouldn't be able to do what we do today. #NativeTwitter

Growing up in Minneapolis, I lived in an urban Native community and attended a Native magnet school, but outside of those areas, I never saw anything that showed this was Dakota homelands. As an adult, I use my art to change that! 🙏

“Cedar or sage is used for the body, to protect ourselves. We put it in our pockets, sometimes we put it in our moccasins. It’s a form of protection for our body.” - Boye Ladd, Ho-Chunk elder and veteran

Today 147 years ago the Lakota’s and Northern Cheyenne wiped out Custer and the 7th Calvary at the battle of the Little Big Horn while they were illegally invading our homelands. That day we captured the American flag in battle and have never returned it to this day. #LandBack

As the first show with every writer, director & series regular being Indigenous, Reservation Dogs advanced Native visibility, & celebrated the beauty, complexity & power of our communities & culture in ways that no show ever has. Farewell, and thank you. #RepresentationMatters

We know...there are many terms. We applaud actor Devery Jacobs (Kanien’kehá:ka) for her gentle call in to explain what terms are appropriate to use when talking about or to Indigenous peoples. 📹Clip from The Hollywood Reporter Comedy Actress Roundtable #IndigenousRepresentation #THRRoundtable
