Fourth graders have been collaborating this week to engineer earthquake-resistant buildings. They tested their structures and discussed what they learned from the tests. Students practiced listening to each other, and respectfully responding to ideas and changes.

Second graders Hunter Street Elementary have been working on their collaboration skills! Students practiced polite agreements and disagreements as well as how to ask clarifying and extension questions. Building these collaboration skills will help students have strong academic conversations!

Collaboration is hard work! Mrs. Farley's and Mrs. Nestlehutt's first graders Hunter Street Elementary worked to piece together an American Flag to celebrate Veteran's Day. Students had to communicate clearly and work as a team to figure out where each piece fit into the finished product.

Ms. McCall kindergarten teacher designed a lesson that tasked the students with building a structure for an animal that would protect the animal from the sun, withstand wind, and survive a flood. Students were engaged and able to collaborate with peers.
