The people march past the Parliament of RSA parking spot. A vastly underutilised piece of land, solely used for parking. We need affordable housing here - it would be low hanging fruit to champion and even then there is resistance to developing it.

A day of multiple shocks and sorrows!

From comforting parents crying outside of the courtroom who had rested their hope in this process and in this movement; to getting clarity from movement lawyers on the grounds of such a careless decision from an acting judge;

Court case built on advocacy, and urgency of the people! In 2024 we still fight for school places for children from area such as Khayelitsha! While the WC government continues to feed its political ego while failing children of Khayelitsha and the surrounding areas

Three decades after the end of apartheid, South Africa still grapples with a dual education system. The quality of education is tied to where a child is born, their race and class. Our panel reflected on the effects of spatial injustice in education.

My phone just reminded me that 5yrs ago this week, I led a 2-man team to the United Nations in Geneva to ask the UN Committee on Civil and Political Rights to protect children’s right to protest.

The CCPR added the word “children” in Gen Comment 37 to Art 21 of CPR Convention.

[PROTEST 🚨]

We’re on the ground w/ legal support & solidarity for parents of Khayelitsha Special School, who’ve marched to the WCED.

Their children have missed MONTHS of school as there is no transport.
