Against my better judgement, I find myself drifting back into the pull of the likes and the outrage. There's a very good reason why I left in the first place, and this site has only gotten worse in the year I've been gone.

Eitan Kaptisher was buried yesterday with no family member to mourn him. His parents and siblings were all slaughtered by Hamas. Eitan was murdered on his 5th birthday.

A member of the Israeli Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy (which I attend) from Kibbutz Be'eri has been missing since Oct 7. His phone last traced to Gaza. His parents were found, murdered.

Another acquaintance, a geek from Be'eri who is even more dedicated to Meretz than I am, was lucky enough to have been in the Tel Aviv area that day. He hasn't seen his parents for ten days. Their fate is unknown, possibly kidnapped.

Too many abroad have moved on from Hamas’ massacre. But we haven’t moved on. We can’t. We’re living it. If all you’ve got is “what Hamas did was bad, but…” - you’ve failed. Hamas’s actions are not in the past tense. Acknowledging that doesn’t prevent you advocating for Gazans.

What people fail to understand is that "anti-imperialists" only care about international law inasmuch as it pertains to the parties they consider "bad". They don't care when Syria, China or Russia piss all over it, and they sure as shit don't care when Hamas does.
