For anyone wondering why the WGA is fighting so hard to mandate minimum writers' room size, it's to prevent practices like this from becoming the norm:

Frequently I hear the argument the studios are “happy to not have to spend all this money on content” and are “freeing up so much cash.” That’s like saying “I freed up so much cash not buying any food or water.” True! And also you’ll be dead soon because you need food and water.
