It was our pleasure to welcome Chris Quinn NI Commissioner for Children and Young People to our Foyle Office today. He met with Director of Youth Justice Services, Colleen Heaney, Assistant Director, Julie Harkness, members of our Western Area Team and our Experts By Experience.
The Commissioner, Chris Quinn, had an engaging meeting with the NICCY Youth Engagement Forum today at Woodlands Juvenile Justice Centre. Chris, later joined by JJC Director Mary Aughey, heard from young people who gave open and honest insights based on their lived experiences 👂🏻
Great news from the RCN Northern Ireland Nurse of the Year Awards. CAMHS Nurse Darren Hughes was commended for his work with young people on the cusp of the criminal justice system. Based in our Southern Team Darren provides essential support to help young people improve their mental health.
On 26 June we launch our film “Changing Lives: The Inside Story of the Probation Service”. It shows the positive impact Probation has on those we supervise, those we support & in the Justice NI sector. Our work is about #ChangingLives for #SaferCommunities.

Our volunteering team would like to thank those from Youth Justice Agency who offered their time via employer supported volunteering making a difference to the Macmillan Health and Well Being Campus and the courtyard area outside Spruce Ward at the NWCC for Neurological Rehabilitation.
