The Commissioner, Chris Quinn, had an engaging meeting with the NICCY Youth Engagement Forum today at Woodlands Juvenile Justice Centre. Chris, later joined by JJC Director Mary Aughey, heard from young people who gave open and honest insights based on their lived experiences 👂🏻

In partnership with West Belfast Neighbourhood Officers, YJA, Belfast team launches its responsive ASB schools programme today in All Saints College, Belfast. Connecting, educating and diverting students from the criminal justice system.

It’s #volunteersweek & we celebrated our wonderful volunteers Clive and Pascal with a presentation of a token of our gratitude from our Chief Executive Stephen Martin & a coffee morning held in their honour. Thank you both for your ongoing commitment to supporting young people.

Our Asst. Dir. Melissa Spence at the NICVA conf on "Building and Inclusive Labour Market" Having a job reduces the likelihood of reoffending & we assist service users to change their lives through employment, working with partners like NIACRO to increase employability.

Our Chief Executive made an appearance at our stall at the Youth Work Fair in the University of Ulster today. It is great to meet so many people and explain the work of the Agency in supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

Great news from the RCN Northern Ireland Nurse of the Year Awards. CAMHS Nurse Darren Hughes was commended for his work with young people on the cusp of the criminal justice system. Based in our Southern Team Darren provides essential support to help young people improve their mental health.

On 26 June we launch our film “Changing Lives: The Inside Story of the Probation Service”. It shows the positive impact Probation has on those we supervise, those we support & in the Justice NI sector. Our work is about #ChangingLives for #SaferCommunities.

We were delighted to welcome DoJ Permant Secretary, Hugh Widdis, to our HQ today. He spoke to Senior Managers and front line staff about the work of the Agency in supporting young people and helping to make communities safer.

Young people, supported by teachers and our staff in Woodlands, created this amazing mural to mark the beginning of our charity partnership with Autism NI. They also made key rings to sell and raised a fantastic £322 for Autism NI Well Done Everyone!
