Just weak systems this week; but neither much sign of extended sunshine (maybe Thursday). Looks milder on the weekend with a band of light rain Saturday or Sat night (light snow north). Turns colder next week.

Just random patchy snow next couple of days: the SW tip of NS may total 10cm today; eastern areas most likely to see 5cm in onshore north winds Wednesday. With brighter periods today; crossing my fingers for decent breaks in the cloud Wed-Fri. Rain (snow north) develops Sat.

Quite a bit of variability in the snowfall reports. While a couple of amounts approach 10cm near Sydney and Charlottetown, the 2 reports of 25+cm just north of Yarmouth really stand out (Schools closed in that County this morning).

As NW winds ease today, onshore flurries taper off and sunny breaks develop. Then generally fine until Sat evening when a snow-rain mix changes to rain Sunday then moves off late Sunday. A band of snow crosses the southern Maritimes Monday to usher in cold air next week.

If you’re pondering why people aren’t more concerned about climate change, it’s not complicated. The oil industry spends $1 billion a year on disinformation. That buys a lot of confusion - even amongst the educated and intelligent. All here: youtu.be/I32R6Yx9PTI?si… #LA fires

Some consistency now in the Monday snowfall outlooks... the heavier snow threatening all but NW NB, as well Queens & Prince PEI, and a swath across northern parts of NS. Update in the morning...

This is an important post. Weather, water and climate services in Canada and around the world mutually benefit from incredible cooperation. US scientists, including NOAA and the National Weather Service are leaders internationally and friends to us all.

As a member of the private sector in the weather enterprise, I want to emphasize that reducing support for national meteorological agencies is bad for business. Moreover, weather does not follow borders, so curtailing data collection in one country has global repercussions.
