#OTD in 1513 James IV of Scotland died at the Battle of Flodden. When his body was found it showed he had received an arrow wound to his face. James was married to Margaret Tudor but his brother-in-law Henry VIII rejoiced when Katherine of Aragon sent him his bloodied surcoat.

In later years it became the prison and place of trial for the Lancashire Pendle Witches and up until recently was a fully functioning HM Prison. Now it is open to the public and stands as one of the country's best kept buildings, it's the rose in Lancashire's crown. 3/3
