This graph goes a long way towards explaining why British houses look so cheap and are such low quality, even though they're expensive to buy. They are, in fact, built cheaply.

Great example of how contemporary yet traditional, 'urban fabric' architecture can: - Harmoniously blend in a historical district - Tick all the boxes for beauty - Still have a contemporary 'feel' Great work in general!

createstreets We had that. The architects told us it continued the lines and ‘rhythm’ of the neighbouring Grade II* terrace. It didn’t. They’d just put a grid over the top and bluffed it. This sort of deception undermines any remaining integrity in the planning system.

Yet another place you can get sausage rolls in town! Greggs getting in just before the new Local Plan requires a Health Impact Assessment of hot food takeaways. Oh wait… there’s no application to change its use. Is Greggs a shop or hot food takeaway?

It was great to be given a tour today of the Ice Works, and to see the wonderful effort that has been made to restore the former mill building into stunning apartments

With simple designs such as this, the detail & texture matters a lot. The large (now near illegal) windows. The rubbed bricks above the 6 over 6 windows. The string courses in red brick. The English bond. The friendly shop front.

The High Street yesterday: clean, no clutter (for the first time in ages), and on this stretch, barely any tarmac cowpats (you can just see some broken paving in the bottom right hand corner outside Hays). This is what we expect. No big redevelopment just decent basic standards.
