And another reminder that a transition of the U.S. to 100% WindWaterSolar across all energy sectors reduces private annual energy costs to Americans by 63% (giving an energy-cost payback time of <6 y) and total social energy costs by 86% (payback time <1 y).

And a 3rd reminder that a transition to 100% WindWaterSolar across the US reduces land use due to energy from 2.4% of US land (1.16% occupied by the fossil industry & 1.24% occupied by the corn-ethanol industry) to ~0.85% of land, with most being open space between wind turbines

Busting a myth about how much new land is needed for the US to run on 100% clean, renewable energy (wind, water, solar) for all energy purposes after electrifying all energy sectors, vs on fossil fuels plus biofuels today See also web.stanford.edu/group/efmh/jac… web.stanford.edu/group/efmh/jac…

The reduction in hours where prices are determined by gas costs has protected Spain from the rise in gas prices. Other countries with higher reliance on fossil fuels, like Italy, the UK or Germany, have seen their electricity price increase substantially since 2019.
