There has been a massive effort on site today at Wingfield. 14 volunteers have removed builders remains, flytipped material & excavated the old coal yard & made a start on woodland clearance. Going to do more on Monday if you're free on Monday we would love to see you....

Excitement for rail fans at the station today.. 37401 tows her sister 37402 and yellow Class 73s 73952 and 73953 Kidderminster to Worksop. Great trains you can observe from the viewing area at the station, when the cafe opens. A great place to have a cup of tea & a cake 🫖🍰🚅
More progress in the goods shed .....all woodwork primed and undercoat on.... next step paint it in LMS cream..... a step towards the installation of the model railway......
For all you rail enthusiasts out there... light engine movements past the station yesterday... 37405 heading for Barrow Hill... 66183 heading the other way to Toton....
Another interesting and occasional working on the Midland Mainline past the station..... 56096 on 6S95 the Sinfin Sidings (Derby) to Grangemouth empties.... on it's return journey it will be carrying aviation fuel for Rolls Royce.... a great train.
The occasional Rolls Royce Sinfin Sidings to Grangemouth aviation fuel empties hauled by a Colas 56 runs past the station... train reporting number was 6S95...
A DB 66 hauls a full rake of Thrall telescopic hood steel carriers on 6E08 Wolverhampton Steel Terminal to Immingham Sorting Sidings...... you will soon be able to enjoy a cup of tea while watching the action....
Just to add to the variety of traction that passes, 2 interlopers from South of the Thames rushed past the station on 11th March 73935 leads 1Q41 13.13 Derby RTC to Crewe infrastructure train 73962 brings up the rear soon be able to enjoy a cup of tea while watching the trains
12th March... GBRF's 66717 leads 6V87 12.41 Middlesbrough Dawson GBRF to Trostre GBRF metals train.... the train is made up of ferrywagons.... an unusual vehicle to transport steel products.... just another example of the varied traffic you can see passing Wingfield Station 1947
Today, 13th March... saw LSL ferry Deltic 55022 Royal Scots Grey as 0Z44 10.09 Crewe HS to Barrow Hill LIP past Wingfield Station 1947 ... the train locos were LSL's immaculately turned out Class 20s 20107 and 20096...
Early morning on 15th March.... 1Z43 06.48 Sheffield to London Marylebone.... the power cars are ex XC now operated by Rail Adventure.... the coaches are owned by the IC125 group..... another great train seen at Wingfield Station 1947 ..... tea coming soon.....
