“Nuclear” is now such a popular word on Wall Street that a natural gas power plant developer has named itself “One Nuclear Energy LLC”. The company is now capitalizing on that name choice as part of their effort to go public via a SPAC merger. They expect to raise about $210 M

Labor rates for data center talent moving up. Surprised this data aren't more bullish on increased hiring and higher rates for electrical and mechanical work tbh.

It costs $28,000 to install rooftop solar in the US. In Australia it costs $4,000. If we can get install costs down to Australian levels, American homeowners could save $1.2 trillion over the next 25 years. 🧵

NextEra & Google partner to restart Iowa’s 615-MW Duane Arnold nuclear plant by 2029. Google will buy power via 25-yr deal for the plant output. Duane Arnold was shut down in 2020 after operating for 45 years.

Right now, this region, known as the Southwest Power Pool, is getting 65% of its power from wind energy. Power prices are mostly negative. We need more transmission to spread this power around. If you remove wind, power prices would be much higher. Baseload? No. Helpful? VERY.

I smell a rat. Why does #SamAltman #openapi need the taxpayer to guarantee their debt if they are going to make hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars? Has he just done a cash analysis and realised he's cash flow short?

My team and I spent hundreds of hours identifying 1,000+ data centers in the US. My biggest takeaway: Many of these projects are really big, and they are being built really fast. 🧵

Good read about built data centers that are sitting there empty because they can't get access to power. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
