Excited to share our new preprint! Alicia Borgeaud discovered that the cell death-promoting apoptosome has an unexpected appearance and behaviour in apoptotic cells. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We previously showed that a coincident FM-FIB-SEM can be turned into a 4D-STEM system for in situ thickness determination (edu.nl/8xh97). Daan applied this to cryogenic samples, allowing automated, thickness-controlled milling of frozen-hydrated lamella from cells.

Don’t use it for cryo-EM technical questions.

M&M2024 was great, especially the Quantifoil grid-race. Now I expect SubAngstrom to take it to the next level with a clipping-race. Maybe TedPellaInc can help, providing proper tweezers to compensate last week’s days of tweezer-butchering.
