We'll download a ton of expenses but then think it's positive that we'll massively over subscribe, giving small revenue amounts under the label of 'investing in students'. Every college is getting hit with 2x expenses over revenues, with increased students & no real support.

Ford govt ramming through shutdowns on a Friday afternoon, despite Infrastructure Ontario saying everything is fine. I guess his buddies who've invested that real estate (before it was rezoned for them) were getting a tad restless & wanted to get their profit-train moving along.

This is a big reason why many people struggle outside academia. The whole systems, from your studies to pursuing employment, through review & tenure, as well as funding & publishing… Inside the bubble, you can forget you’re highly trained, qualified & can offer a lot of value.

I regularly encounter folks using weed publicly, who treat it like tobacco, legal & not a 'real drug'. So, to be clear, all open drug use shouldn't be tolerated? Or just the "problem" drugs people seem to dislike seeing because it reminds them of the serious drug epidemic here.
