Imagine if this New York Times article were framed the opposite way: 52% of people are unreasonably charged by the government for a public service that should be free. This is the difference between the way many liberals think and the kind of thinking required for a better world.

If you were at the 1968 DNC like Bill Ayers was, you would have seen that Chicago showed what the crisis in the country was, the crisis of racism and white supremacy, the crisis of empire and war. Like now. #KnowYourHistory buff.ly/3Mky2fQ

Seeing the police called out this spring to attack every Gaza encampment for peace on campus after campus, Bill Ayers had a déjà vu moment. It was a replay of 1968. #KnowYourHistory The Real News buff.ly/3AFutOJ

“[I]t’s not that history repeats itself, but the contradictions have not gone away. White supremacy abides. War and empire and genocide abide. And we have to stand up against them.”—Bill Ayers on Democracy Now! buff.ly/3Mky2fQ

.Bill Ayers says it’s so important that many forces came together to raise the question of Gaza everywhere the Democrats went in Chicago during the #2024DNC. It’s the moral issue of now. #CeasefireNOW WORT 89.9 FM buff.ly/3X5hXzQ

One thing for people to toss around in their heads is why police unions are always on the same side as large corporations. It's a helpful observation about the purpose of police/prisons for people who don't have time to learn the history of how modern police forces started.

Happy 70th Birthday to Ruby Bridges, who at the age of 6 desegregated the New Orleans public schools. She’s younger than 36 senators and only 7 years older than Barack Obama. The past isn’t past.

"She was amazing." Aysenur Ezgi Eygi's former classmate and close friend Juliette Maid remembers the 26-year-old activist from Seattle who was killed just days after joining protests against illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Police killed more people in 2021 than in 2020, the year of George Floyd's murder. They killed more people in 2022 than in 2021. They killed more people in 2023 than in 2022. And they are on pace to kill far more in 2024 than 2023.

Today in Congress, we are demanding an independent, transparent, and thorough investigation into Aysenur Ezgi Eygi’s killing in the West Bank. The Israeli government has proven unwilling and unable to investigate. We’re calling on Congress to step in and seek justice.
