See here for an exciting PhD opportunity combining modelling and theory to understand the dynamics of Mars's polar vortices: exeter.ac.uk/study/funding/… We're happy to answer any questions! Exeter University Mathematics Dr Will Seviour Dr Stephen Thomson

Reading about the 'significant' increases to UK visa fees on the way. In case anyone thinks they are currently cheap, Dr. Hannah Susorney and I have already spent well over £10k on visa fees during the last 5 years.

I remember being very excited when Dr Jo Morten sent me this excellent project idea for our 2021 CMIP6 hackathon. It's great to see this now published - well done to Jo and the team!

I'm looking for a new #PhD student to come and join our group Exeter University Mathematics. We'll be exploring heat transport in atmospheres within and outside our solar system using I, Isca and theory. Co-supervised by Dr Will Seviour and Geoff Vallis. exeter.ac.uk/study/funding/…

I'm also looking for a new PhD student to join our group Exeter University Mathematics to investigate tipping points in forecasts of extreme winter weather using explainable AI. In collaboration with Dr Stephen Thomson and Adam Scaife (UoE and Met Office). Details here: exeter.ac.uk/study/funding/…
