Today we released the results of Greenpeace UK Everyday Plastic Big Plastic Count.
The results are not surprising, but they are shocking. We can't recycle our way out of this mess.
Ahead of tomorrow's extremism announcements, we spoke with Damien Gayle The Guardian about our concerns over Rishi Sunak presiding over the biggest crackdown on freedom of speech and the right to protest in recent UK history (and Labour’s silence):

Powerful action from Greenpeace UK.
No matter where we live or how much money we have, we should all have a safe and healthy place to call home.
We support their ask for an end to cold, damp homes!
This week 1000s of people around the UK are counting the plastic they throw away in the UK’s biggest investigation into household plastic waste.
The results will pressure government to tackle plastic pollution for good. Join in act.gp/46ZLeyD #BigPlasticCount
Jeremy Hunt botched it. Refusing to invest properly in the green economy of the future is a HUGE MISTAKE.
What #Budget2024 didn't properly address:
🔴 our grossly unfair tax system
🔴 easing the cost of living
🔴 boosting our stagnant economy
🔴 tackling the climate crisis
📢 Chile 🇨🇱 has officially ratified the #HighSeasTreaty and become the 1st Latin American country to do it 🥇
We call on countries to accelerate the #RaceForRatification and turn commitments into action in the water ASAP!✊ #BBNJ

We've launched a podcast: Our Oceans - Life Under Water, hosted by Hannah Stitfall.
By 2030 we need 30% of our ocean protected - right now we have under 3%. It's ambitious, but bridging this gap isn't as hard as you might think.
