After 16 years on Surrey County Council Customer Services and 14 years on Woking Council, I’ve decided to step down as a Councillor. It’s been an honour to serve my community - I now want to focus on being #Woking’s Member of Parliament. Local residents will get to vote in by-elections shortly!

Proud to be by Ed Davey at #PMQs today where he pushed the Prime Minister to stand up to Donald Trump and demand the United Nations sets up for humanitarian corridors in Gaza to ensure aid gets where it’s needed.

The PM told me today that he would do everything he can to get desperately needed aid into Gaza, but words are not enough and I will hold him to account until we see action.

Proud that my amendment - Sara’s Law - will be debated in the House of Lords as part of the Children and Wellbeing Schools Bill. If passed, it will end the postcode lottery in children’s services, so no child like Sara Sharif from #Woking is left to fall through the cracks again.

Yesterday, I wrote to Pakistan High Commission London calling for them to allow people to apply to visit Pakistan at the Shah Jahan Mosque. I’m delighted to report they have agreed to hold an event to let people apply for an Overseas Pakistani Card in #Woking soon!
