We are celebrating the end of summer break with a successful week of box turtle team! We have such amazing veterinary student volunteers that made our field and lab work the most fun and efficient! How can we have turtle searches every week? 🐢

There’s nothing like being hip-deep in the marsh during the hottest day of the year! Today is one of the very few days where flooding those waders is a must! 🥵

Each year, @Brookfield_Zoo visits Nachusa Grasslands with boykin spaniels to find ornate box turtles, which can only be found in prairies. This NBC story is a great one to learn about these wonderful furry partners in conservation! Wildlife Epidemiology Lab at IL Elizabeth Bach

Scamp is one of the older working Turtle Dogs, but she still shows her nieces and nephews up from time to time! Just when you think she’s losing focus, she brings you a very handsome turtle. These dogs are amazing!
