Andy Elliott Rob Gazzard I worked on peat fires in Russia and Indonesia. Your video is impre@uve and gives the new perspective. Peat fires could be relatively easily suppressed in early stsge, becomes a real disaster if griw, and has the ability to survive rains and snow.

We have now delivered the last Lantra accredited course in Stanley for this trip. It was a Wildfire Management Plan course with 12 landowners. The course includes wildfire management planning, Wildfire Risk assessment and the creation of a Wildfire Response Plan@essexforester

Today we delivered a Wildfire Management Plan training course in Fox Bay, West Falkland. We had a walk around the village looking at wildfire hazards then spent the day writing these into a Wildfire Management Plan. The training is provided by Forestry Commission. Rob Gazzard

It's not all work in the Falklands. After training we made use of the evening to see the landscape and wildlife. The Falklands are an amazing place with incredible wildlife. My colleague Dean, saw his first Penguins today! We also found Teberries to have with our dinner!

An excellent day in Fox Bay, West Falklands. We ran a Vegetation Fire Operators course with Land Managers. We were able to use live fire to support the theory input over the past days. The training is provided by the Forestry Commission with equipment funded by Darwin Plus Local

We have successfully delivered 3 Lantra accredited Vegetation Fire courses over the past 2 days in Fox Bay, West Falkland. The candidates are land mangers and the training has been funded by Darwin Plus and delivered on behalf of Forestry Commission by WildfireTaC. Rob Gazzard

We have just completed our first full day on the Falklands. We have been preparing paperwork and kit ready to deliver our first Vegetation Fire course in Fox Bay on behalf of Forestry Commission. We are looking forward to sharing knowledge and skills. Rob Gazzard

Landed back in the Falklands again this afternoon. Good weather but the brisk wind makes it feel a little fresh. The work starts at 08:00 tomorrow and looking forward to getting stuck in.
