A triple alumnus of University of Hull, he came to see our Homelands Exhibition, co-produced with Hull Museums and HullAfro@Caribbean (Official), as a strategy for engaging people with photographic heritage.

Our condolences to friends and family of the former Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor David Gemmell, who has passed away. During our genesis, during his term as Lord Mayor, and afterwards, he remained a great advocate of our institute. More generally, he supported many great causes.

Growing up in Canada, I dreamed of making it up to the Wilberforce Institute in the UK to learn from some of the world's foremost scholars on human trafficking. It was an immense joy to be there, and to even be one of the conference presenters. Thank you Dr Alicia Heys for organising!
