Gaelic classes continue to dive into language this month. We had a great visit from Emily MacDonald who taught a Gàidhlig aig Baile where students learned through repetition, actions and hands on learning. Students stayed entirely in Gaelic for 1/2 hour!!!

Grade 8 Students at WEC and BEC were steppener off tonight at the dance#gaelicmonth

Scottish G Film group came into WEC yesterday to present to the Grade 7&8 classes. The students started by developing a story board to plan a new production. They will be working on this new production to eventually submit to a Gaelic Film Contest.

We had a Highland Games demonstration today for our Grade 4-8 students. #GaelicMonth

The grade 4/5 class were learning about volume by planning and developing their own animal made out of boxes. #artinmathclass

In primary/one we start each day with a slow start where students are encouraged to practice their writing.

What a great day we had at the special Olympics. Great job athletes!

The grade 7 & 8 Gaelic class had a fantastic day at Baile nan Gàidheil a Highland Village. We had a lot of fun dressing the part and becoming part of the village for the day!

WEC students have incredible talent on the stage. Some were showing their music and singing as well as their acting talents. A shout out to Peter MacInnis, Lauren MacKinnon and Trish Boyd for helping our students show their expertise in the arts #welovethearts

Great fundraising efforts by our Grade 2 class. $62 total dollars will be sent to Nova Scotia Wildfire Relief for Pets. Great jobWEC!

Consistent exposure to music, like learning to play a musical instrument, or taking voice lessons, strengthens a particular set of academic and social-emotional skills that are essential to learning.

Lots of great talent from the WEC kids tonight at Lilth Fair

Friendships give school-age children a sense of belonging. They also build children's self-esteem and develop their social skills.

WEC students worked very hard over the past two months to train for their 2K Doctors Nova Scotia Run. They learned that hard work and dedication pays off.
