“We are trained in the medical model to practice general medicine” Really? In 2 years of PA studies? Instead of 10 - 15 years of Medical Training? Nonsense: Noun. Spoken or written words that have no meaning or make no sense.

Be nice to your cleaners. Make them part of your team. Without them, things fall apart and get messy (literally) very quickly. If everyone’s followed the example of the RAF and how they treat their cleaners, the world would be a kinder place

The ICB couldn't support the existing local GPs, however they have managed to find another £40/patient for a private provider to do the work instead. That is a massive uplift! Massive. Wes Streeting MP please do take a look at what is happening up and down the country.

Thames Water boss says he's 'angry' over pollution amid govt crackdown. He got £195,000 bonus for 3 months. Thames wants to hike prices by 60%. Pollution, customer exploitation, massive dividends, underinvestment are deliberate choices. Let it go bust. itv.com/news/2024-09-0…

Hi, I’m a #TrainDriver. I take your children to school, your loved ones to work, your family & friends on their way to their holiday destinations or nights out. Sometimes hundreds at a time. There’s quite a lot else to know though…

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I have to know our rule book, written in the blood our our predecessors for whom it went wrong. I have to have an extensive knowledge of the traction I drive. I have to know the routes I drive in detail. Including but not limited to…

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Speeds, signal locations, level crossings (name, location and type), braking points for hundreds of stations, stopping points for the same stations, junctions and where they go, areas of low adhesion, short platforms.

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I can be tested for drugs and alcohol at any point on duty. I am regularly assessed, by download or manager rideout, to check that my driving still meets the standard. I work all hours of the day sometimes starting at 0300, sometimes finishing at 0500.

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Before any of this though I had to pass numerous psychometric exams and interviews to even be considered for a driver managers interview and after all that I had to then pass a medical to be deemed fit for duty.

It really is a great job, one that I am eternally grateful to hold and one I’d encourage anyone to do. I’m a trained professional, that holds the safety of hundreds of people a day on my shoulders, yet a loud minority deem we are overpaid minions that push a few buttons. If only.

This is a major crisis that will affect all of us. The #NHS is being destroyed in the name of profit. GPs have been warning about this for a long time. They need the public to support them.

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Well… this got a few bites. A couple of things. - I was highlighting I don’t just “push buttons” - my salary (far less than stated 😂) highlights the strength of a union. Also highlights how poorly paid EVERYONE has been. - my job “isn’t better” than anyone else’s.

The biggest success of the media over the last few decades is turning working class people against each other whilst those with real wealth and power can sit there laughing at us. We’re all just trying to get through this life and not starve whilst doing it. Play nice x

David Beckler (@davidbeckler1) 's Twitter Profile Photo

George 🚂 Too many people in this country have an inbuilt snobbery about which jobs should be fairly remunerated. Good to see some workers get what they deserve.

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Cliffyfly✈️ Absolutely. Everyone needs paying more! For years wages have stagnated to benefit those who hold all the wealth. It shouldn’t be working class against working class but here we are.

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Andy Graham And they’ve all been chronically underpaid for over a decade... wonder who was in charge of that? I’m sure there weren’t any donors in their ears! The working class should be punching up, not down!

George 🚂 (@drivergeorge32a) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I’ve muted this now. Getting silly 😂 As I’ve said I was merely pointing out that being a #TrainDriver isn’t just sitting there pushing buttons. As I’ve also said the media have done a great job of pitting the working class against each other. It’s not a race to the bottom.

Guess who would get priority from #OfficeoftheWhistleblower #OWB? A #whistleblowing #traindriver who reports risks to safety caused by companies cutting corners & ignoring regulations, or a financial sector whistleblower that OWB & lawyers can make £$£ from? We need #EdnasLaw
