Does anyone else feel like parents are becoming increasingly disrespectful towards school staff? It's disheartening to witness my incredible team in tears last week due to some parents criticising their hard work. My staff are exceptional and do not deserve this.

What if teachers broke down game film like football coaches?

Imagine if each week you reviewed at least one hour of class “game film.”

I think that would go a long way to improving teaching.

Two voicemails left late last night on our line. Mum really struggling. We've emailed their social worker this morning for a call out.

This pretty much combats all of those people yesterday who said we don't care about the mother or child, we need to work as a team…

Mum had a tough morning at home apparently, got them in the car... student started trashing the school as soon as they stepped through the door. Mum didn't look back, she raced back to her car and left.

Child still isn't settled. Mum won't answer the phone.…

My school doesn't really do contracts for staff. Instead they give out 'letters', a one or two page outline of a job agreement, that is signed, but nowhere near the level of detail of jobs I've had in other sectors. Does this happen at other schools?

How do schools manage the vaping crisis?

Whistleblowing Teacher So many kids clearly hooked on the nicotine now. As they can easily vape in a toilet undetected it's arguably worse than cigarettes, some are vaping 10+ times a day in school and it's affecting their mood too. It's a crisis.

I misbehaved a lot at school.

I remember feeling happy when one of the soft teachers spoke to me about my behaviour, because I knew I was more likely to get away with it with minimal consequences.

That didn't happen with the strict teachers - I behaved for them & did more work

Going to call it #SENDiaries soon. Have a certain parent really making my life HELL. Nothing we do (as a school) will be good enough for their little one. It's just too much. Off with stress for a few months is fast becoming an option, which won't help their child.
