Sometimes I'm stunned by the fun things that happen with music when I stop planning and just Play. Sometimes stunned isn't a good thing... Today it is.

Today's work, from ominous orchestral through just plain strange but pretty all the way to... drumline? Yep. A Labor Day full of writing music because that's what time is for!

Today's positive thing. I magically guessed the right length for 2 of 4 song snippets for a thing. The third was slightly short and the last was more than slightly long but those were easy fixes! Magically guessed = "I read the script at the right pace with a stopwatch going."

Today's positive thing - I slept in until after 8 am. That might not seem monumental, but I'm usually up before 5 even on weekends, and the sleep felt glorious, needed, and involved being pain free.

My positive thing for today - There are long periods during the day when my knee doesn't hurt. That hasn't been true since early January. Lots of PT, lots of working on it, lots of patience and trying things and starting over when life gets life-y later I'm starting to feel good

Today’s positive thing. I unplugged yesterday. When I came home from work I sat on the porch with a book and it was perfect. It’s ok to not be on.

Today's positive thing. I'm taking a sick day. I'm grateful to have a job where those are a thing, where I can decide to take time for my health without worrying about how I'm going to make rent. I haven't always had this luxury and I know many don't.

My positive thing today is small. My new gaming controller arrived today, which means I'll stop always walking to the right all the time!

Yes, I will probably always be doing the "Even when things seem fucked I'm going to make music because that's why I'm here" thing. I work with hope-punk stories for a reason. Up early today to have coffee at dawn and Reaper up and working by 7. Beauty is important.

Today's positive thing, finally getting to hear the finished first episode of Carmilla by the folks at Re: Dracula (and a little bit also by me!). Love the big moodiness!
