As long as we are stuck in this extreme -PDO regime, expect more snowless winters across the southeast. Strong SE ridging like we're seeing right now seems to be a hallmark of -PDO in the cold months (November-March).

Lately it seems like every borderline storm has gone stronger than expected. This was the first storm in a while that's trended weaker.

Without looking any deeper this is a surprisingly good pattern for interesting weather setting up around Thanksgiving. Remains to be seen if the pieces come together or if this even holds up, but nice to see these kinds of signals popping up this early in the winter.
