Today is May Day, or International Workers' Day.

I want to be clear - worker's rights are human rights.

Let's remember the victories the labour movement have won, from the 40-hour work week to health & safety- and let's continue to push forward for all workers.

On First Responders' Day, I want to recognize the incredible sacrifice and work that our first responders do every single day to help keep our communities safe - thank you.

The executives at Loblaw are completely out of touch with what everyday Canadians are facing.

Record food bank usage. Seniors rationing food & medication. Families worried how they are going to make ends meet.

The behaviour we saw in the legislature today towards an MPP is appaling. The Premier and this government are sending a strong message to Arab, Muslim, Palestinians in our province, that they are not welcome here at Queen’s Park.

The Ontario NDP will not stand for this.

Under Doug Ford, private, for-profit agencies in our health care system cost nearly $1 billion last year.

We must rein in the use of private staffing agencies, & use those dollars to invest in front-line staff & support our publicly-funded, publicly-delivered, health care.

Today is Earth Day - let's use today to recommit to leaving this world a better, healthier place for our kids & grandkids.

That means taking action on climate change, protecting our lakes, air, and farmland, and ensuring we preserve and enhance our greenspaces. #onpoli

In Wilmot, Ontario, farmers are being told that they have to sell their land to the government or it will be confiscated. 

We held a town hall to get to the bottom of this with nearly 500 in attendance.

You are the backbone of our healthcare system—even though this government doesn’t understand that.

Quality care starts with treating frontline workers with respect—without them our long-term care system doesn’t function.

Long-term care can’t be about profit for a handful of corporations—it must be about care.

It’s time those profits go back to care—that starts with staff.

Doug Ford's cruel legislation is placing seniors & their families in terrible situations.

The last thing we should be doing is placing seniors in unsafe situations, or fining them for wanting a say in where they live.
