Today we welcomed Maddie & David from EC to work with our Learning Focus Group as we re-imagine the Wavell learning experience. A day of rich conversation, big ideas & a continued resolve to ensure Wavell graduates are ready to take on the ever-changing world.

Over the weekend we saw 2022 graduate and Player of the Year, Karl Oloapu make his NRL debut for the Canterbury Bulldogs. Shoutout to Dragon's Michael Molo (Wavell Warrior #876 graduating 2014) for reaching out to Karl to congratulate him on his debut following the Bulldogs win.

Last week our Year 10 Debating team had a successful win against Padua College. In this round of the Queensland Debating Union - QDU competition our students were tasked with the negative perspective of the following topic: We regret true crime media. Well done Team Wavell!

Congrats to Yr11 student, Erin who has been selected to attend the QLD Minerals & Energy Academy Oresome Minds camp in Mt Isa during the holidays. Erin, who studies Earth & Enviro Science + Biology, will visit Glencore site alongside a small group of students from across QLD.

This week we were notified that our Executive Principal, Liz Foster been awarded the ACEL QLD Fellowship Award for 2023 by the Australian Council for Educational Leaders QLD. We look forward to celebrating this recognition at the State Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 22nd August.
