Friends, I accepted the role of EiC for the Springer Nature journal #TDTMV in 2018 & the past 5 years have offered a window into the world of academic publishing, which I wouldn’t have had otherwise. This is a thread about professional boundaries, which we are permitted to enact.

The EiC role is an ever-present cognitive load. No day goes by where I do not receive e-comms from the journal, think about how to develop the journal further, or log into the portal to action peer review assignments & article processing. Here is a screenshot of avg comms volume
