Heading out? Travel smart. Before you hit the road, review conditions, share your route with someone you trust, and make sure your phone is charged. Extra time and caution go a long way when winter hazards are possible. Be #WashUReady! #washu #mowx

In addition to the snow and rain in the forecast on Saturday, cold weather pours into the region for the start of next week. Most of us will see 2 or 3 days where the temperature doesn't warm above freezing. A cold start to winter! There could even be some flurries or light snow.

Build a quick winter car kit. Pack warm layers, an ice scraper, water, snacks, a flashlight, chargers, and traction material like sand or cat litter. A few essentials can make a big difference if conditions worsen while you’re traveling. Be prepared. Be #WashUReady. #mowx #washu

Stay weather-ready. Snowy conditions may follow the holiday weekend, so take a moment to check the forecast and plan ahead. Winter weather can change quickly—give yourself extra time, slow down, and stay alert on and off campus. Together, we are #WashUReady. #mowx #washu

An Arctic blast will bring some of the coldest air of the season thus far to the region on Sunday. While temperatures on their own will be cold enough, winds will push wind chill values to dangerous levels. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx

Another quick winter system will bring snow to portions of the Midwest Saturday. While exactly where the highest totals will occur is uncertain, impacts are expected wherever snow falls due to cold temperatures. Stay informed before you travel!

Update at 1:30 p.m. We're seeing patches of freezing drizzle in areas around the region. Although crews are out treating, melting ice can create slick spots. Please use caution as you travel, drive slowly and give our crews space on the road.
