If the increased federal law enforcement presence in D.C. was about crime or getting unhoused people to accept services, they wouldn't be harassing people going into a service center to get help with housing and employment. Again, homelessness is not a crime.

Mayor Muriel Bowser does not speak for educators either who are doing everything in their power to keep students safe and do not, in any way, “greatly appreciate” the federal intrusion in DC that is terrorizing our communities.

The federal law enforcement surge is not keeping us safe, it's making people fearful to be outside. For people who have no choice but to be outside, it is particularly scary. Unhoused people are being targeted and harassed *because* they have no homes, no other reason.
