2. Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Canal
Monumental & elegant, described as a masterpiece of a creative genius Thomas Telford. The 18 km long Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Canal is a feat of civil engineering of the Industrial Revolution.

1. Castles & walls of Edward I in north Wales.
In 1986, the castles of Beaumaris, Conwy, Caernarfon, Harlech. The fortified towns at Conwy & Caernarfon, were added.

Conwy Town Walls
Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes Castles. The town walls surround Conwy’s medieval heart, three quarters of a mile long, with 21 towers & 3 original gateways.

Penrhyn Castle
The former home of the Pennant family. Rebuilt between 1820 & 1837 for George H. D. Pennant on the proceeds of the North Wales slate industry & sugar plantations in Jamaica. Architect Thomas Hopper's design is neo-Norman style. Including fantastical beasts & faces

Joe's in Swansea
In 2022 Joe's celebrated 100 years of icecream making in Wales. It's a family story that started with Luigi Cascarini. In 1922 he loaned money to his son Joe to open a parlour.
Now run by Dominic & Adrian Hughes, Luigi's descendants.
