It’s been a tough week—from tragedy to moments of heroism and neighbourly kindness. But we’ll get through it like we always do in Manitoba: by working together.

Our sincere condolences to Mark Scheifele and family, and sending our best to the entire Jets organization. Mark, you’ve done so much for us over the years please know the people of Manitoba have your back.

After you voted, former Premier Heather Stefanson and the PCs tried to ram through a controversial mining deal—after they lost power. They were warned. They broke the law. They were fined. Worse, they ignored your vote. In our democracy, that’s a line you don’t cross.

Building Manitoba in the age of AI: This week we launched the Innovation and Productivity Task Force with Minister Mike Moroz and Jim Balsillie—tech leader, philanthropist, and former BlackBerry co-CEO. Homegrown innovation to build a smarter, more secure, and resilient economy.

King Charles and I spoke about the wildfires in Manitoba, about building the economy, and how focusing on the climate might help us make investments that connect those issues. Before he left he said we need Indigenous wisdom. 🇨🇦

🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 A great day for Canada. So much to be proud of—as Canadians, and as the King said in the Throne Speech, the True North is, indeed, strong and free.

Manitoba has declared a province-wide state of emergency to safely evacuate and shelter 17,000 people — the largest wildfire evacuation in recent memory. To those leaving home: you’re not alone. These measures protect you. We’ll get through this — together. 🤝

Evacuations are underway. Cots are going up. The wildfire situation is serious — but like always, we’ll get through it together. 🤝 🆘 Donate to the Canadian Red Cross

In the face of wildfires, we’ve seen heroism: military flying evacuees to safety, first responders protecting communities, volunteers stepping up, and evacuees showing incredible patience. Thank you to everyone who’s stepped up. The true spirit of Canadians shines through. 🤝🇨🇦

COPE locals from across Canada donated over $50,000 to the Red Cross to support wildfire relief in Manitoba — all after a visit today at their convention. It was a surprise, but not surprising. This is what solidarity looks like. Thank you. 🤝❤️

The families we welcomed from Gaza are now getting the medical care they need. I’m reminded of that moment at the airport—when I thanked them for giving us a way to show who we are: kind-hearted people, expressing our humanity in one of the most sacred ways.

Wildfire evacuations in Manitoba are now the largest air evacuation in Canadian history, says the Canadian Armed Forces. To CAF, wildfire crews, the Red Cross, first responders, volunteers, and everyone who stepped up- 🙏 for moving 21,000 Manitobans to safety with smarts & grit.

Thank you, Manitoba—for stepping up during the wildfires. In Flin Flon & Thompson, I was moved by stories of neighbours helping neighbours, firefighters working nonstop, and evacuees showing incredible strength. We stand with you—as One Manitoba. 🤝
