The NICCY Advisory Forum can confirm that the CAJ has lodged papers for a judicial review due to the lack of a NI Executive anti-poverty strategy. We are part of the Anti-Poverty Strategy Co-Design Group aiming to eradicate poverty by 2040.

It is very valuable to have an opposition to bring these kinds of challenging questions to the Executive parties. This issue needs to be kept on the agenda at all times.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation poverty report shows children have higher risks of poverty overall but larger families with 3+ children have consistently faced a higher rate of poverty. This is because benefit policies have a disproportionate impact on larger families including the 2 child limit
