Great news coming at the end of #PermittingMonth ! Federal agencies are receiving new funding to invest in technologies that will improve the efficiency of permitting for critical infrastructure like broadband projects 👇
The fifth and final principle on our #PermittingMonth checklist is a fair and proportional fee structure.
Published fees that are easy to find and calculate provide predictability for both applicants and permitting agencies when setting budgets.
Including community comment in developing the permitting framework for broadband projects is the fourth principle on our #PermittingMonth checklist.
When the community has a voice in creating & finalizing the rules, it benefits residents, applicants, and permitting authorities.
The third principle on our #PermittingMonth checklist is clear, workable design standards for broadband infrastructure.
This will help ensure flexibility and predictability in the permitting process that is essential for providing connectivity to all Americans quickly.
#2 on our checklist for expediting broadband deployment in states/localities is to implement objective application review criteria. The permitting process benefits everyone involved in broadband deployment when requirements are easily accessible & applied fairly. #PermittingMonth
