🧁👩🏻‍🍳 Stirling Schools Bake Off 2024🧑🏻‍🍳🧁

A huge well done to everyone who entered the SSBO Competition 2024 👏🏻✨

The creativity and bakery skills demonstrated hugely impressed all of the judges. They had a difficult decision on who to put through to the next round!

It’s been a busy week in Home Ec with our Practical Cookery prelims. Everyone worked hard and gave it their best, with excellent dishes being produced under pressure and strict time restraints! Well done!👏🍴👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

We had some leftover vegetables to use up so S3 made a delicious Vegetable Curry today! A great opportunity for us to practise veg prep, weighing and measuring and hob control! 🍛👏

🍝 Our S2 pupils have been learning about the impact of dietary choices and about different dietary diseases. Today for their unit assessment they created their own delicious and nutritious pasta dishes whilst being peer assessed for hygiene and safety!📚👩‍🍳

Our Practical Cookery pupils made Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup🥕🍠 and Cajun Chicken with Rice this week🍗 🍚. Well done everyone it was a busy lesson with a great opportunity to practise organisation skills and following a time-plan! 👏👏

S3 have worked hard over the past few weeks on their Christmas cupcakes. Well done everyone- here are a few pictures! 🎄🧁

Looking forward to next week's Pupil vs Parent Cooking Competition! 🔥🍳 Two past exam dishes in 1 1/2 hours. May the best chefs (pupils or parents) win! Let the culinary competition begin! 🏆👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

It was also a fantastic opportunity to share standards and expectations with parents and some hints and tips to prepare for the National 5 exam! 📝

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to our Practical Cookery Engagement Evening! It was a great evening, giving us a chance to showcase our pupils talent and the skills they have developed though the course. Thanks to all the parents for your participation and support. 🙌

Our S2 pupils have been learning about dietary related illnesses and how we can reduce saturated fat in our diet❤️. This week we are making Quorn Chilli con Carne! 🌶🧅🫑

S5/6 Practical Cookery pupils have been learning about garnishing and decorating in Home Ec. 🍓🍫🍽Today they took on the ‘Teacake Challenge’. Well done to our winners!🏆🏆

Our S1 pupils are making Chocolate Apples this week for Halloween! 🎃🍎🍫

Well done to our S4 Practical Cookery pupils who made a Thai Curry and Cheesecake today. It was our first opportunity to cook two dishes and follow a time plan!! 👏👏👏
