This MCHS Men's Lacrosse vs Weddington HS Lacrosse is a game that’s been years in the making. Two of the top programs in the state for the last five years going head to head.

We need everyone there!

Accolades keep rolling in! Congrats to Gabe Montognese for being awarded to the 2nd Team Charlotte Observer. This is much deserved as Gabe was a huge part of the WHS lacrosse program. He will do big things at CNU!

Congrats to current rising senior, Charlie Smith , who is continuing to make moves. Charlie is an incredible lacrosse player and was voted as a team captain as a junior. We’re glad we’ve got one more year left with him! Congratulations , Charlie!

Next up, the best goalie in the area (if you ask us), @_willmitchell1 ! Congrats to Will who stepped into a pivotal role with absolute confidence and poise. We couldn’t have had this past season without you!

Congrats to Ryan Kazella on continuing to make his mark in the Charlotte lacrosse community. We love that Kazella ended up with us and cherish the 4 years that we had with him. We can’t wait to watch him at York next year!

Last but not least our very own plebe at the USNA. We’ve said it once and we’ll say it a million times, Dane is a man of few words but when he speaks everyone listens. A true leader of men and we will definitely miss him! Congrats, Dane!

It is our pleasure to officially announce Coach Short as the North Carolina Coach of the Year. NC is filled with great lacrosse coaches so this is an incredible honor to bring back to Weddington. Congrats Coach! Britton Short

He’s no stranger to the player of the year award but another big congrats to Ryan Kazella . Not enough words to describe this kid but he is special both inside and out. Congrats!

Matchup number two is set for the 8th Annual Champions Challenge in support of the WWP NC 4-A Runner Up, the Weddington HS Lacrosse (19-4) vs Private School power, Bobby Thompson (13-8) on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Charlotte’s Downtown Memorial Stadium, game time TBA.
