In 2023, over a quarter of a billion people worldwide faced acute food insecurity. Democratic Republic of Congo had the highest number affected with 25.8m people in crisis. The main drivers remain conflict and subsequent displacement, economic shocks like debt crisis and climate.

To measure the progress of it's works in our district, Welhungerhilfe has organised for joint stakeholder monitoring, today.
Among the projects handled are;
1. 16 major borehole rehabilitations
2. Eight new borehole drills
3. One mini pipe water scheme

In Uganda, almost half of young people have no education, poverty characterizes their everyday lives causing widespread hunger. But there is hope, and Latisha from Uganda is an example she has found her way out of poverty by training as a farmer under the green college project.
