We are set to support Benue State Govt develop a Climate Change Policy with funding from WECF international. Our team had a fruitful discussion about this today with the Permanent Secretary and other staff of Benue State Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change in Makurdi.

Unpredictable rainfall patterns and extreme weather caused by climate change have made it difficult for farmers in Nigeria to produce and preserve their crops effectively. To address these challenges, our grantee partner, Women Environmental Programme, promotes sustainable farming techniques.
WEP recently trained 500 farmers in Jibia, Katsina State on down-scaling climate information for improved agricultural practices with a focus on interpreting and using agrometeorological data for climate-smart agriculture. UNDP Nigeria
