The City of West Des Moines is declaring that an Emergency Parking Ban for Snow Removal will go into effect at 8 PM on 2/11/25 This will remain in effect until 5 PM on 2/12/25. This applies to all streets in the city and violators may be subject to a $50 fine or towing.

An Emergency Parking Ban for Snow Removal will go into effect at 2 AM on 2/15/2025 and will remain in effect until 5 PM on 2/16/2025. This applies to all streets in West Des Moines. During an Emergency Parking Ban for Snow Removal, cars are subject to a $50 fine and/or towing.

An Emergency Snow Parking Ban is in effect for all streets in WDM from 6 am on Wed, March 5, to 5 pm on Thurs, March 6. Cars subject to fine and/or tow.

West Des Moines Police responded to Valley Southwoods High School 625 S. 35th Street around 10:42 AM September 10, 2025. Police are on site and are reporting there is no active threat.   Police have a presence at the school and will remain on-site until the scene is released.
