Yesterday we had Queen Elizabeth launching a ship named after her, before she was Queen she was the Duchess of York and launched another ship named after at #Clydebank today in 1928. Sadly in 1943 the ship was sunk whilst carrying troops with the loss of 27 souls.

October 1938 saw the houses of Random Street being condemned for demolition. The street's random name is believed to come from Smollett's novel The Adventures of Roderick Random.
