14th July is the National Day of Remembrance for victims of honour-based abuse. This date was chosen as it marks the birthday of Shafilea Ahmed, who was murdered in Warrington in 2003 by her parents in a so-called ‘honour-based’ killing. We will remember her.

50 Years of Women's Aid ⭐️ 2024 marks 50 years since the Women's Aid federation in England was founded, that officially makes this our golden anniversary. While there's been a lot of positive change since 1974, the reality for a lot of women today is far from golden.

The children in one of our refuges had a brilliant time doing some crafts and Biscuit decorating. Activities like this with the children staying in our refuges is very important as it enables them to focus on something creative, to express themselves. #DomesticAbuseSupport
