ʻUmi kūmākahi (11) really was spectacular! Volcano gas, steep cliff edges and earth cracks are hazards that still exist. Stay out of closed areas. Eruptive conditions can change at any time.

A hui hou! (Until we meet again!) Episode ʻumi kūmāono (16) of the ongoing Kīlauea eruption ended at 12:03 p.m. HST April 2, 2025. This photo was taken from Volcano House two minutes after the fountain stopped in the south vent. ʻUmi kūmāono lasted 36 hours. NPS Photo
