When I got back from #Manus on the weekend we couldn't convince a single 6pm news service in Australia to run our ASRC footage of the medical and humanitarian crisis happening inside Manus RPC. None thought it was an important enough story.

We're Australia. We're meant to be proud of protecting refugees. Not of creating terror for them & starving them. Not hurting them & threatening them with more violence. None of this is normal. None of this is ok. None of this can we turn away from. These men need help. #Manus

Just when I think it cannot get any worse....We're now on the phones at the ASRC trying to figure out how many men are homeless tonight on #Manus Island & how to house them I can't believe this is happening.... Could Peter #Dutton be any more malicious & incompetent?

The big issue at this moment is that many people who were injured yesterday are deeply traumatised and need psychological treatment. Its very hard to accept being beaten by someone after nearly 5yrs in prison. I have not seen deeper suffering than seeing humans humiliated.
