A very brief history of our museum:

1938 The Ancient House is given to Clare Parish Council by local businessman Charles W Byford, to be put to 'a useful public purpose'

1979 Clare Parish Council creates a museum

1999 The museum re-opens following a complete re-design...

Here's our revised Celebrating Clare exhibition schedule. Each of our themes has been extended by one month to give as many people as possible the chance to enjoy our displays. We'll have 3 themes this year & 3 next! Carnivals & Fetes is open this Saturday & Sunday, midday to 4pm

The new exhibition of the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists - SEAW is now open and showcasing some beautiful works of art at The Old Goods Shed, Clare Castle Country Park.

Entry is free and the exhibition runs every day until Sunday 19th May, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
