Did you know that tourism is an important component in generating sales tax revenue and growth in Edmond? When individuals and groups spend nights in Edmond, they shop, eat and visit attractions. This increases sales tax revenue & improves citizens’ quality of life. #votejune18

In comparison, the current Edmond lodging tax rate is much lower than other cities in the metro area. Norman currently has the highest rate in the area at 8%, Guthrie and Stillwater at 7%. Oklahoma City is at a 5.5% lodging tax rate that may increase in August. #votejune18

With an increase from 4% to 6%, it is estimated that an additional $500,000 will be generated annually. These funds will be used to support tourism development opportunities like event sponsorships, advertising and bidding on conferences, tournaments and events. #votejune18
