We National Farm to School Network are making sure that every child in every state has as access to real food in school. We are helping connect local farmers to schools. There have been so many injustices built into the food system. It’s time to change the rhetoric. Become a member. It’s free

They don’t have to make their way back into schools. School Food Service Directors decide what is served. This product and many like t were not even remotely considered when I was working as a FSD. Let’s help school FSD’s and keep highly processed foods out of schools.

Earlier this year, the USDA announced proposed rule changes to its child nutrition program standards. They are currently accepting public comments until May 10 and this is your chance to make sure your voice is heard in shaping the future of school meals! bit.ly/3Ky73xg

I met Dolores Huerta at a Calif Food and Ag celebration. I’ve admired her since I learned of her work. She and Cesar Chavez’ advocacy had an impact on my family when we toiled the fields my first 17 years. She asked for my card and said she will to reach out to me. National Farm to School Network

This was the first time the National Farm to School Network attended the CA Academy of Nutr conference. We provided info at a booth on NFSN and encouraged RDN’s and DI’s to become members. I also shared the final keynote with Chef Juan Juan J Zamorano, Shannon Young and Tyler Rubeiro. #farmtoschool

One of the top benefits of #universalschoolmeals is that it reduces administrative work for school staff, allowing them to spend more time preparing nourishing meals instead of processing paperwork. 🌱 Learn more about our school meals campaign at farmtoschool.org/whosatthetable

Did you get out on your bike for #WorldBicycleDay? This is one my favorite roads out in West Marin, Ca. It’s the road less traveled as you can see. “The bicycle is a paint brush for cyclists on the countryside”. What is your favorite cycling quote? #cycling

Happy Father’s Day. One of hardest and kindest man I know. I was told by many that he could do the work of 2 or more men. He is also the kindest man I know. Still works at 85 helping elderly with plumbing needs, often not charging them or accepts little if they insist.

Attended listening session as National Farm to School Network rep, Envisioning the Future for Children Together, held in DC by Kellogg Foundation. I felt that this event was my future after spending over 3 decades advocating for healthier meals w/out the support of many health allied orgs.
